Celebrating 4 Decades of Innovation

Basit Hamid, CEO and founder of Elixir Technologies was recently honored by being the Recipient of the Brian Platte Lifetime Achievement award at Xploration18.

Brian Platte was a senior member of IBM who created Advanced Function Printing (AFP), the first corporate document print architecture standard. The Brian Platte Lifetime Achievement Award was established in 2007 and is given to an individual, or individuals, whose efforts and contributions have significantly changed the course and development of the digital document industry.

The award recognizes Mr. Hamid's visionary technology and humanitarian accomplishments, beginning with Intran in 1982, to founding Elixir Technologies in 1985 where he developed the first WYSIWYG forms system on a standard PC.  Mr. Hamid continues his decades-spanning career of innovation to this day with Elixir’s Tango+, the first completely 100% cloud-based customer communications platform.

Mr. Hamid’s humanitarian contributions include designing and implementing IT infrastructure to support democracy in the former Eastern Bloc and in Pakistan providing educational opportunities to underrepresented communities in Pakistan’s evolving technology sector.
